In a recent interview with Esquire India, he shared that he often wishes he had spent more time with his father and asked him more questions.
He said that after his father's passing, he has become more focused on being present with his own family, his wife and his two sons.
'What's The Use Of Fame If No One Is There?'
Bobby reflected on how success feels meaningless without loved ones. He said box office numbers, reviews and roles do not matter in the end. According to him, real success is measured by how much time you can spend with the people you love. He asked, "What's the use of fame and fortune if there's no one to see it?"
Bobby also shared that he often watches his father's old reels on Instagram. Seeing Dharmendra smiling, joking and spreading love makes him feel as if his father is still talking directly to him.
Sons Growing Closer To Family
Bobby mentioned that his sons have also changed after their grandfather's death. He feels they have become more mature and better understand what truly matters in life. They now try to spend more time with family and are less impressed by the glamour and superficial side of the film world.
Closer Bonds With Esha And Ahana
The actor also revealed that this shared grief has brought him closer to his half-sisters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. He said that everyone in the family is dealing with Dharmendra's loss in their own way. Sometimes, when people are sad, they may misunderstand each other or feel their own pain is the biggest. But, with time, he believes loss itself can bring a family together and make bonds stronger.
Dharmendra's Final Chapter
Dharmendra passed away on 24 November 2025 at his home in Mumbai, at the age of 89, after health complications. His last film, Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan, was released in theatres on January 1, 2026, after his death, and his performance was widely praised.
In 2026, he was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan posthumously for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema, a final tribute to a beloved legend.
