New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson has heaped huge praise for Sameer Rizvi and opined about his extraordinary batting which has led Delhi Capitals towards back-to-back wins in IPL 2026. Rizvi has emerged as a top performer in the ongoing season and he smashed another brilliant half-century in Delhi's first home match on April 4.
"Man, it was seriously impressive. I had not seen too much of him before these last couple of games. In Lucknow, he was under a bit of pressure with the strike rate and trying to get into the innings," Jamieson replied to a query from News18 CricketNext during a media interaction.
"You think something is going to unfold, as it usually does in T20s. But the way he (Rizvi) absorbed the pressure and then reapplied it was seriously impressive. He followed a similar pattern against Mumbai, absorbing pressure and then taking the game on when the matchup came," Jamieson added.
In match against Mumbai Indians, the 22-year old batter smashed 90 off 51 balls, his knock included seven fours and many sixes. He completely dismantled Mumbai Indians' bowling lineup with his batting dominance.
The team is now preparing for match against Gujarat Titans on their home ground against Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. With his current form, Rizvi is rapidly establishing himself as one of the most dependable young batters in the IPL 2026 season, and DC will be hoping he continues his streak against top-quality opposition.
