Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has asked Donald Trump to extend the Iran deadline by two weeks. He also called for a temporary ceasefire to give diplomacy a chance amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

In a post on X, Sharif said diplomatic efforts are "progressing steadily, strongly and powerfully" and could soon yield meaningful results. "To allow diplomacy to run its course, I earnestly request President Trump to extend the deadline for two weeks," he said.

He further appealed to Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for the same period as a goodwill gesture, stating, "Pakistan, in all sincerity, requests the Iranian brothers to open Strait of Hormuz for a corresponding period of two weeks."

Call for Ceasefire

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged all warring parties to pause hostilities. He proposed a two-week ceasefire to allow diplomacy to work toward ending the conflict, emphasizing long-term peace and stability in the region.
