Both teams were awarded one point each; this marked Islamabad's first point of the season, while Peshawar Zalmi climbed to the second spot on the points table with three points from two matches.

Prior to the toss, Lahore witnessed heavy rainfall accompanied by a severe thunderstorm. Strong winds and hail further exacerbated the situation. The rain, which lasted for nearly an hour, left several parts of the ground waterlogged, creating large puddles.

Although the pitch had been covered, the outfield remained fully exposed to the rain and became completely waterlogged. Even after the rain ceased, the ground remained so wet that conducting a match appeared almost impossible.

The ground staff worked tirelessly, continuing their efforts to dry the outfield right up until the cut-off time. Around 9:20 PM, the PCB signaled that a five-over match might be possible, as the covers had been removed and efforts to make the ground playable were still underway.
