Pakistan wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan has been name in the ODI squad of upcoming series against Bangladesh. But ahead of the series, there have been reports which claimed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed fine on the Pakistani players after team's disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup.

Rizwan was not a part of T20 World Cup squad and was asked about the fines. In response, he mentioned that he can only speak on the matter once there has been official announcement regarding disciplinary action. According to a report by ESPNCricinfo, the board fined every member of the squad PKR 5 million after Pakistan's poor performance in the tournament.

"Several people have asked me about this, but nothing official has come out yet. The PCB are yet to come out in the open and give a confirmation regarding this. If there is a fine or penalty of 50 lakh, it should be announced officially. Right now, these are just media reports and nothing else. I can only comment when it is announced officially," Rizwan told reporters.

"Pakistan went out of the event on net run rate, not because of losing outright," he said.

The report further claimed that fines were introduced strictly due to the team's on-field performance in the tournament. Rizwan also defended Pakistan's exit from T20 World Cup and mentioned that the team was only eliminated due to net run rate rather than poor performance.
