India's leading businessman Mukesh Ambani is set to launch a new company in partnership with Germany-based Allianz Group. His company Jio Financial Services (JFSL), has announced a joint venture to start a new insurance business in India.
This new company will operate in both general insurance and health insurance segments, as confirmed in a press release.
50:50 Partnership
The partnership will have equal ownership, with both companies holding a 50:50 stake. The move is aligned with the Indian government's vision of "Insurance for All by 2047."
What Is the Plan?
The main goal of this joint venture is to make insurance easily accessible to people across India by combining the strengths of both companies:
- Jio's strength: Strong digital network and wide reach across the country
- Allianz's strength: Over 136 years of global experience in insurance and strong product expertise
Together, they aim to offer insurance policies that are simple to understand, easy to buy digitally, and affordable for all types of customers.

Mukesh Ambani said that his vision is to make world-class services available to every Indian, not just a few. He added that insurance is not just a product, but a foundation that helps families build a secure future with confidence. He also confirmed that Allianz will be Jio's exclusive insurance partner in India.
Allianz CEO's Statement
Oliver Bäte, CEO of Allianz Group, said that by combining Jio's massive reach with Allianz's experience, they aim to create a new insurance model for India. This model will focus on customer needs and provide better financial security.
Approvals Still Pending
The launch of this new company is subject to necessary government and regulatory approvals. The two companies are also exploring a separate partnership in the life insurance segment in the future.
