Mumbai rains today: Heavy rainfall lashed Mumbai on Thursday morning, leading to waterlogging in several low-lying areas and briefly raising concerns over disruptions to the Mumbai local train network.
Visuals showed water accumulating on railway tracks near Dadar station, one of the busiest junctions in the city, as intense monsoon showers continued across Mumbai.
While railway authorities maintained that suburban train services were operating normally, many commuters reported delays of around 10 to 15 minutes, resulting in overcrowded platforms and packed trains.
Western and Central Railway Say Services Running Normally
According to the latest update issued by Western Railway at around 9 am, suburban services on the Churchgate-Dahanu Road corridor were operating normally despite heavy rainfall. Harbour Line services between Mahim and Goregaon were also reported to be running without major disruption.
Similarly, Central Railway said services on the Main Line connecting CSMT with Kalyan, Karjat, Kasara and Khopoli remained operational. Harbour services on the CSMT-Panvel-Goregaon route and Trans-Harbour services between Thane, Vashi and Panvel were also running.
However, passengers travelling on both Western and Central Railway routes reported that several trains were running 10 to 15 minutes behind schedule, particularly during peak morning hours.

Heavy Rain Causes Waterlogging Across Mumbai
The overnight downpour led to waterlogging in several parts of Mumbai, including Dadar, Parel, Hindmata, Worli, Charkop, Goregaon and Andheri. Road traffic moved slowly in many areas as vehicles struggled through flooded streets
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai and its suburbs are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall through Thursday, with extremely heavy showers possible during Thursday night and early Friday morning. Gusty winds at 50-60 kmph are also expected.
Adding to concerns, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said a high tide of 4.27 metres is expected at 1:45 pm on Thursday, followed by another high tide of 3.71 metres at 1:31 am on Friday.
