The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the NEET UG 2026 results by July 20, according to an NDTV report. The result will be released after the completion of the answer key review process following the nationwide re-examination.
The NEET UG 2026 re-exam was conducted on June 21 after the original examination held on May 3 was cancelled. More than 20 lakh candidates appeared for the re-test at 5440 examination centres across India and 14 centres overseas.
NTA Aims to Release Results Quickly
The agency has indicated that it wants to complete the admission process without affecting the academic calendar. "We would not want to disrupt the academic cycle, and want to release the results as soon as possible. We are looking at a deadline by July 20," the officials stated.
Earlier, the NTA released the provisional answer key on June 25, allowing candidates to raise objections until June 28. In its public notice issued on June 25, the agency said it is working to publish the final answer key and announce the NEET UG 2026 result at the earliest possible date. For comparison, the NEET UG 2025 results were declared on June 14 after the examination was held on May 4.

Follow these steps to download your result:
- Visit the official website neet.nta.nic.in.
- Click on the NEET UG 2026 Result link.
- Enter your Application Number, Password, Date of Birth, and Security Pin.
- Submit the details.
- Your scorecard will appear on the screen.
- Download and save a copy for future admission and counselling.

What Happens After the Result?
Once the results are declared, qualified candidates who meet the NEET UG 2026 cut-off will become eligible to participate in the medical counselling process for admission to MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical courses.
The counselling schedule will be announced separately by the concerned authorities. Although NEET results are generally declared 45 to 50 days after the examination, this year's result is expected to be announced earlier to ensure that the admission process stays on track.
