Severe heatwave conditions continue to affect Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar district. In view of the extreme heat in Noida and Greater Noida, the education department has announced the closure of all schools until further orders.

According to the order issued by the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS), the decision was taken keeping children's health and safety in mind due to rising temperatures and intense heatwave conditions. The order will be mandatory for all government and private schools in the district.

Order Applicable to All Boards

On the instructions of Noida DM Medha Roopam, DIOS Rajesh Kumar Singh ordered the immediate closure of all schools from nursery to Class 12. The order will come into effect from Tuesday and will apply to schools affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, UP Board and all other boards. Although summer vacations have already started in many schools, institutions that were still operating have also been asked to shut immediately. Parents had been demanding school closures due to the difficulties children were facing in the scorching heat.

Appeal to Parents

The administration has appealed to parents not to send children outside unnecessarily and to keep them safe indoors. According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures may rise further over the next few days. The order will remain in force until weather conditions improve and the heatwave intensity decreases.

Health Advisory Issued

The health department has also issued a public advisory asking people to drink plenty of water, eat light meals and avoid staying in direct sunlight for long periods. People have been advised to immediately contact the nearest health center if they experience symptoms such as dizziness, extreme weakness or vomiting. Senior officials have suggested that adults and elderly people avoid outdoor work, carry water even for short distances and limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours.
