Amid the easing of crude oil prices government owned oil marketing companies have released the latest petrol and diesel prices for today.
While international crude oil prices continue to fluctuate, fuel rates in India remain largely stable, with only minor changes reported in a few cities. Since fuel prices also depend on state-level Value Added Tax (VAT), petrol and diesel rates differ significantly across the country. Before heading to the fuel station, it is worth checking the latest prices in your city.

What are petrol prices in Delhi, Noida and Gurugram?
In the national capital, New Delhi, petrol is being sold at Rs 102.12 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs 95.20 per litre. In neighbouring Noida, petrol costs Rs 101.96 per litre and diesel is available at Rs 95.44 per litre. Meanwhile, commuters in Gurugram are paying Rs 102.97 per litre for petrol and Rs 95.64 per litre for diesel. The slight differences in prices between these neighbouring cities are mainly due to variations in local taxes and other state-level charges.

Mumbai continues to have higher fuel prices
Mumbai continues to record some of the highest fuel prices among major Indian cities. Today, petrol is retailing at Rs 111.21 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs 97.83 per litre. Fuel prices in Maharashtra's capital generally remain higher because of the state's tax structure, making motorists pay more than those in several other parts of the country.
Why fuel prices differ across cities
Although oil marketing companies revise fuel prices every morning, retail rates are influenced by multiple factors, including global crude oil prices, exchange rates, freight costs and state-specific VAT. As each state levies a different tax, petrol and diesel prices vary even when the base fuel price remains the same. Consumers are advised to check the latest rates in their respective cities before purchasing fuel, especially during periods of volatility in the global crude oil market.
