Rajesh Kumar, best known for his show 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, has appeared in several popular movies and played pivotal roles. In a recent interview, he commented on Bollywood's class system and how many lead actors treat the secondary cast on set.
While speaking at Aftab Puntoo's YouTube channel, Rajesh said, "If you go on a big set, only 4-5 people are discussing everything: the director, cinematographer, the main actors, and the main writer. The rest of the people, their experiences, they don't count for anything."
He further revealed that many lead actors do not rehearse with the secondary cast, causing the film to suffer. He added, "Lately, I have not seen any main actor rehearse with us. Either they rehearse with the writer or the assistant. They don't have any interaction with the secondary cast, and that is why the film suffers, because sometimes people think that the secondary actor might overshadow us."
"They make it so that the secondary cast gets their lines at the last moment. This way, the actor is just consumed with learning the lines," he said.
He further shared that he has worked with some 'great actors' who would not even look at the secondary cast and won't rehearse. He further concluded, "I am just saying that we need to get out of this system."
