Share Market Live Updates: After Friday's sharp sell-off, Indian equity markets opened on a positive note on Monday, supported by a recovery in IT stocks and improved investor sentiment.

The BSE Sensex opened higher by around 381 points, while the NSE Nifty 50 gained 116 points to trade at 24,129. The rebound came as buying interest returned to technology counters after the recent correction.

However, gains remained capped as escalating hostilities in the Gulf region kept investors on edge. The intensifying conflict has raised concerns over global energy supplies, pushing crude oil prices up by more than 2 percent. Market participants are closely monitoring developments in the region, as a prolonged conflict could fuel inflationary pressures and increase volatility across global financial markets.

Investors remain cautious despite the easing of crude oil

After a long period of continuous selling, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) have once again turned buyers in Indian equities. Supported in part by passive fund inflows linked to FTSE quarterly rebalancing, FIIs invested over Rs 3,380 crore in a single session. This fresh wave of buying boosted market liquidity and helped trigger a gap-up opening.
