What is Bilt Rewards

Jain founded Bilt Rewards that allows tenants to earn points whenever they pay their monthly rent. These points can then be redeemed for several benefits, including: Travel rewards, shopping discounts, fitness memberships and also savings toward a future home purchase.

The platform partners with landlords and property managers, enabling tenants to earn rewards without increasing their rent.

The concept quickly gained traction in high-rent urban markets such as New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles. These cities have large renter populations and some of the highest housing costs in the United States.

Early entrepreneurial journey

Jain also comes from a family with strong entrepreneurial roots. His father, Naveen Jain, previously worked at Microsoft before founding InfoSpace. During the dot-com boom around 2000, InfoSpace's soaring share price briefly made Naveen Jain a billionaire.
