Ankur Jain, a 36-year-old Indian-origin entrepreneur has emerged as one of the fastest-growing billionaires in New York's technology ecosystem.

He built a massive Rs 31259 crore empire by finding a solution to the increasing rent crisis. He is the founder of Bilt Rewards, a platform that allows tenants to earn reward points simply by paying rent. The idea went viral and led to the rapid growth of his company. Jain's wealth has surged dramatically. According to the Hurun Global Rich List, his net worth jumped 217 percent in the past year, making him one of the fastest-rising billionaires in the city.

As per estimates cited by Forbes, Jain's real-time net worth stands at around $3.4 billion (approximately Rs 31,259 crore), placing him among the world's wealthiest entrepreneurs.

What is Bilt Rewards

Jain founded Bilt Rewards that allows tenants to earn points whenever they pay their monthly rent. These points can then be redeemed for several benefits, including: Travel rewards, shopping discounts, fitness memberships and also savings toward a future home purchase.

The platform partners with landlords and property managers, enabling tenants to earn rewards without increasing their rent.

The concept quickly gained traction in high-rent urban markets such as New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles. These cities have large renter populations and some of the highest housing costs in the United States.

Early entrepreneurial journey

Jain also comes from a family with strong entrepreneurial roots. His father, Naveen Jain, previously worked at Microsoft before founding InfoSpace. During the dot-com boom around 2000, InfoSpace's soaring share price briefly made Naveen Jain a billionaire.

Now, Ankur Jain is following a similar path, building a fast-growing fintech empire.

Before launching Bilt Rewards, Jain had already made a name for himself in the startup world. He founded Kairos, a venture studio focused on building startups aimed at solving global challenges.
