After her mother's death, Sridevi was the one who filed a formal complaint against the hospital and received Rs 7.2 crore as compensation.
Media reports from the time state that Sridevi kept the entire compensation amount to herself, and it was because of this that the two sisters started to get bitter towards one another. Srilatha went as far as to file a case in the court against Sridevi to get her share of the money. She eventually won the case and was awarded Rs 2 crore as her share; however, this incident completely destroyed the sisters' relationship.
Srilatha and Sridevi, despite being siblings, never reunited, even after the superstar actor's tragic death. Boney Kapoor reportedly tried to reconcile the two sisters, but Srilatha maintained her distance, even missing Sridevi's prayer meet in Chennai after her death.
As per reports, Sridevi's sister Srilatha is still alive but prefers to stay out of the public eye. There is not much information about her line of work or whereabouts.
