Salman Khan is teaming up with acclaimed South Indian director Vamshi Paidipally for his next big Bollywood film. While Salman hardly needs an introduction, Vamshi Paidipally is one of South India's most successful directors, known for delivering hits in Telugu and Tamil cinema.
Who is Vamshi Paidipally?
Vamshi Paidipally was born on 27 July 1979 in Khanapur, a town in Telangana's Adilabad district. Growing up in a family that owned a cinema hall, he was surrounded by movies from a very young age. He attended Hyderabad Public School and later completed a Master's in Computer Applications from Osmania University. After working as a software engineer, he realized his true passion is in filmmaking and decided to switch to cinema.
Vamshi started his career as an assistant director on the 2002 Telugu film Eeswar and later worked as an associate director on hits like Varsham, Mass, and Bhadra. Producer Dil Raju offered him the chance to direct his first film. Vamshi debuted as a director with Munna in 2007, but his real breakthrough came with Brindavanam (2010), starring Jr NTR.
He continued delivering hits including Yevadu (2014), Oopiri (2016) and Maharshi (2019), which won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film. In 2023, he entered Tamil cinema with Varisu, starring Thalapathy Vijay.

Vamshi Paidipally is now making his Hindi cinema debut with Salman Khan. The untitled project is expected to go on floors in April 2026, with a massive urban set being built at SRPF Ground in Goregaon, Mumbai.
