BTS is finally set to make a grand comeback within a few days. Apart from releasing a brand new album, the band will also perform and go on a world tour.

It has teamed up with popular music producer Diplo, but it has been creating controversy. Know why BTS ARMY is upset over Diplo teaming up with the band.

What were the accusations against Diplo?

Diplo was sued for distributing revenge porn by a woman in 2024. He got involved in a similar controversy in 2021 as well after a woman accused him of distributing sexually explicit videos of her without her consent.

To these allegations, Diplo revealed that he was the victim of an 'obsessed fan' and said that he 'won't be extorted by anyone, no matter how stinging the press can be'.

In 2022, he filed to claim 1.2 million USD in damages from a woman he accused of violating a restraining order after their sexual relationship ended. He accused the woman of being a stalker.

This controversy resurfaced after BLACKPINK member Jennie teamed up with Diplo for the album 'Ruby'. Now, fans have raised questions again about why BTS has teamed up with him.

What Diplo said about working with BTS?

In a recent interview with TMZ, the music producer shared, "I feel so lucky. I've worked for three decades, and to link up with a group like that and have them trust me to do some awesome music, it's honestly gonna shock the world."

He has worked on five songs with BTS. BTS's new album is Arirang, which means 'my beloved one' in Korean. Ari emphasises 'beautiful' with Rang meaning 'beloved'. It is also Korea's most popular and beloved traditional folk song. Another interpretation is often linked to a legend of two lovers separated at the Auraji wharf. The folk song is reportedly 600 years old and has been included twice on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
