Microsoft has announced a massive investment of 1.6 trillion yen ($10 billion) in Japan from 2026 to 2029. The tech giant's plan is aimed at expanding artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and strengthening cybersecurity cooperation with the Japanese government.

The announcement was made during a visit by Microsoft's Vice Chair and President Brad Smith to Tokyo.
