A man in Telangana's Hanamkonda district has been taken into custody for allegedly murdering his wife and two daughters. The accused, Azaruddin, reportedly drowned his pregnant wife Farhat (26) and their daughters Umera (8) and Ayesha (6).

The police suspect the motive behind the crime was Azaruddin's desire for a son. He allegedly drowned Farhat after she refused to abort her third pregnancy, which he feared would once again result in a daughter.
