Actor Akshay Kumar has announced his reunion with long-time co-star Vidya Balan in director Anees Bazmee's upcoming project. Sharing a video on his Instagram account, Akshay showed himself boarding a flight alongside Vidya Balan, suggesting their journey to Kerala for the film.

He captioned the post: “Next stop: God’s own country, the magical Keralam. Anees Bazmi’s next is my fourth film with the ever fabulous @balanvidya and I hope the good luck charm of our jodi continues.”

The post garnered significant attention from fans, many of whom expressed keen anticipation in the comments section. Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan have previously collaborated on notable films such as ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, ‘Heyy Babyy’, and ‘Mission Mangal’. Further details about their new project are yet to be disclosed.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Bhooth Bangla’ recently premiered in theatres. The film is presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with Cape of Good Films. It stars Akshay Kumar, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, and Rajpal Yadav. Directed by Priyadarshan, it is produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R Kapoor. Previews began on April 16, 2026, at 9 PM in theatres.

In a recent interview with ANI, Akshay described ‘Bhooth Bangla’ as a “real horror comedy” and emphasised that it is distinctly different from his earlier hit ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’. He explained, “Nahi ye bilkul alag hai (No, this is completely different). ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’..usme psychological thriller, horror..horror bhi nahi tha psychological comedy thi (That was more of a psychological comedy. This is a fantasy. Iske andar vakai mein koi bhoot hai ya nahi dekhna hai (In this, whether there is a ghost or not, you have to see.) Yeh actually kahunga to asli mein horror comedy hai (So if I say, this is a real horror comedy).”
