Alexander Zverev secured his place in the quarter-finals at Roland Garros for the sixth consecutive year by defeating Jesper de Jong 7-6(3), 6-4, 6-1 on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

The World No. 3 overcame an early challenge after falling behind 0-3 in the first set, eventually prevailing in two hours and 14 minutes. Zverev converted four of seven break points against the World No. 106, steadily raising his level to cruise to victory.

The 29-year-old German, a three-time Grand Slam finalist including a runner-up finish at Roland Garros in 2024, is one of two Top-10 men's singles players remaining, alongside World No. 6 Felix Auger-Aliassime. By advancing to his eighth Paris quarter-final, Zverev tied for sixth place on the Open Era list for most quarter-finals at the clay-court major.

Zverev is set to face rising star Rafael Jodar in Tuesday's quarter-finals, marking their first meeting. The 19-year-old Jodar previously came from two sets down to overcome Pablo Carreno Busta 4-6, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2.

“In the beginning, it was a bit difficult. I didn’t start strong, and he started really fast and really well. But once I found my rhythm, I felt very comfortable on the court, and that’s the most important thing for me. I feel like my game is there, now it’s about showing it on the match court,” Zverev said, according to the ATP Tour website.
