The action thriller series 24, starring Anil Kapoor, will be available for streaming on Jio Hotstar starting April 24. The show, led by Kapoor, has gained a considerable following for its real-time narrative, sharp pacing, and high production values, a format known to generate considerable interest both on OTT platforms and in theatres.
Episodes from both seasons of the thriller will be released on Jio Hotstar from April 24, with eight episodes being made available every Friday. Kapoor plays ATU Chief Jai Singh Rathod, who is responsible for protecting Mumbai from terrorist attacks.
Sharing the announcement on his Instagram account, Anil Kapoor posted a video marking the show’s digital return and wrote, “Against the clock, against all odds! Let’s do this!”
The series’ return coincides with increasing audience preference for fast-paced, genre-driven content, making its launch on Jio Hotstar particularly timely.
Reflecting on the show’s digital comeback, Kapoor said, “I’ve played many intense and action-driven roles over the years, but 24 was never just another show for me, it was an adrenaline rush like no other. The pace, the pressure, and the real-time storytelling pushed me to stay constantly on edge, both as an actor and as a storyteller. It’s a project that challenged me in the best way and continues to be very close to my heart. I’m excited that it’s now coming to JioHotstar, and I look forward to audiences experiencing that thrill all over again.”
The original broadcast of 24 aired on Colors TV, with the first season premiering in October 2013 and concluding in December 2013. The second season was broadcast between July 2016 and October 2016. The show is adapted from the American series of the same name.
Anil Kapoor was recently featured in the series Subedaar, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video.
