Actor Athiya Shetty celebrated her husband and cricketer KL Rahul's 34th birthday on Saturday with a heartfelt Instagram post, offering fans a rare glimpse into their private life through a series of intimate and previously unseen photographs.
In her post, Athiya referred to Rahul as “my person” and wrote, “Happy birthday my person, love you so much.” The collection of images chronicled their journey together, including moments from their wedding, holidays, and their new role as parents.
Among the photos was a tender wedding ceremony image showing Athiya embracing Rahul. Another striking black-and-white picture appeared to be from a holiday, capturing a quiet, candid moment between the couple. One particularly touching slide depicted Rahul’s hand beside their daughter’s small feet.
The post also featured glimpses from their mehendi ceremony and concluded with a picture of their matching heart-outline finger tattoos.
Athiya’s father, actor Suniel Shetty, also extended birthday wishes to his son-in-law in a heartfelt message on social media. On his Instagram account, he shared a photograph with Rahul and wrote, “In a world chasing attention, you stay grounded. That says more than anything else ever could. Happy Birthday My Sun, Stay solid. Stay smiling. Always with you.”
Athiya Shetty, who has been away from the film industry for some time, married KL Rahul on January 23, 2023, in an intimate ceremony at the farmhouse of her father, veteran actor Suniel Shetty, in Khandala. The couple announced their pregnancy on Instagram in November 2024 and welcomed their first child, a daughter named Evaarah, in March.
Subsequently, the couple shared a photograph of themselves with their newborn, captioned, “Our baby girl, our everything. Evaarah/Ivaaraa ~ Gift of God.”
Athiya made her acting debut in 2015 with the film ‘Hero’ and later appeared in films including ‘Mubarakan’ and ‘Motichoor Chaknachoor’.
