Ayush Badoni, a player for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), reached the milestone of 1000 Indian Premier League (IPL) runs, becoming the third batter to do so for the franchise.
He achieved this during LSG’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Kolkata on Thursday.
The right-handed batter required 25 runs going into the game to join the 1000-run club and reached the mark in the 12th over of LSG’s innings while chasing 182 runs. Badoni is also the second Indian batter to score 1000 IPL runs for LSG, following KL Rahul, who was the first.
Currently, Badoni has accumulated 1029 runs in 59 matches, with an average of 26.38. Nicholas Pooran, the former West Indies batter, joined Rahul in the 1000-run group last year, and Badoni’s entry has expanded this elite list.
In Thursday’s match, Badoni contributed 54 runs off 34 balls, including seven fours and two sixes. LSG secured a thrilling victory at Eden Gardens by defeating three-time IPL champions KKR by three wickets on the final ball.
Chasing a target of 182, LSG relied on half-centuries from both Ayush Badoni and Mukul Choudhary to claim their second win of the IPL 2026 season.
Brief scores: Kolkata Knight Riders 181/4 in 20 overs (Ajinkya Rahane 41, Angkrish Raghuvanshi 45, Rovman Powell 39*; Manimaran Siddharth 1/34) lost to Lucknow Super Giants 182/7 in 20 overs (Mukul Choudhary 54*, Ayush Badoni 54; Anukul Roy 2/32, Vaibhav Arora 2/38) by 3 wickets.
