Panic ensued in Mumbai on March 12 after bomb threat emails were received at three prominent locations - the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Vidhan Bhawan, and the High Court.
This led to security searches and the evacuation of affected premises.
Authorities, including the Mumbai Police and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), responded promptly to the threat. “Adequate security measures have been taken and are in place. Necessary legal action is being taken at the respective police stations,” the Mumbai Police stated.
Further details regarding the incident are awaited.
On March 8, a hospital in Mumbai received a bomb threat via email warning of an “LED blast” at its premises, which caused significant panic among patients and staff. The Mumbai Police’s Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) conducted a thorough inspection of the hospital in response.
