Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her cabinet ministers marked the BJP-NDA's successful Assembly election performance across four states and one Union Territory by sharing rasgulla and jhalmuri at the Delhi Secretariat on Monday.

A video released by the Delhi Chief Minister’s Office showed CM Gupta and the ministers enjoying the traditional sweets and snacks within the Secretariat premises.

The celebrations followed positive counting trends indicating a strong showing for the BJP-NDA in West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Assam.

Union Minister and former BJP West Bengal President Sukanta Majumdar also joined party workers in celebrating the party's comfortable majority in West Bengal's assembly elections. Speaking to ANI, Majumdar stated, “The trends show the formation of a BJP Government in the state. ‘Ram Rajya’ has arrived in West Bengal.”

BJP workers distributed jhalmuri and celebrated at the party office in Kolkata. One worker commented, “PM always goes among the common man. He had ‘jhalmuri,’ and it is Didi who felt ‘jhal’ (spicy). She had even humiliated the ‘jhalmuri wala’ and said that an SPG personnel was made to sit there. Common people of the state have given her a befitting reply.”

West Bengal BJP President Samik Bhattacharya indicated that a “people’s government” will soon be established, signalling the end of Trinamool Congress’s political dominance in the state. Speaking to reporters, Bhattacharya said, “…TMC’s current political system has ended, and the people’s government is going to be formed.”

As final tallies continue, the BJP is projected to comfortably cross the 74-seat halfway mark in West Bengal’s 147-seat assembly, emerging as the single largest party if current trends persist. This will raise the number of states governed by the NDA to 21.

According to Election Commission of India trends at 3:30 pm in Assam, the BJP has won six seats and is leading in 75 seats, while the Indian National Congress leads in 20 seats with zero wins to date. The Bodoland People’s Front has secured one win and leads in nine seats.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in New Delhi later on Monday, in light of the party’s strong early performance in West Bengal and Assam.

West Bengal recorded its highest-ever voter turnout since independence, with 91.66% polling in Phase-II of the Assembly elections. Phase-I participation was 93.19%, resulting in a combined turnout of 92.47%.
