Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) reported a fire at its SHP Platform within the Mumbai High Asset on April 4, resulting in minor injuries to 10 personnel.
The blaze, which broke out at approximately 5:45 PM, was quickly controlled and extinguished, allowing operations to resume normally.
In a statement posted on X, ONGC detailed that emergency response measures were immediately activated to contain the situation and prevent escalation. “A fire incident was reported at ~17:45 PM at ONGC’s SHP Platform, Mumbai High Asset. The situation was promptly brought under control and the fire extinguished,” the company said.
The statement confirmed that the 10 injured personnel are receiving medical care and remain in stable condition. “10 personnel sustained minor injuries and are under medical care. All are stable,” it added.
Operations at the platform have now been normalised. ONGC indicated that further updates will be provided as more information becomes available. The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed.
