The fifth-seeded pair, who also won the Australian Open earlier in 2026, navigated the US Open draw without losing a set to claim their second Grand Slam title of the season, according to the US Open website.

The victory avenged their only previous meeting, in which Krawietz and Puetz defeated Harrison and Skupski in a match tiebreak during the Adelaide semifinals earlier this year.

Harrison and Skupski broke serve once in the opening set to take it 6-4. The second set was more closely contested, with both teams holding serve through nine games.

Krawietz and Puetz, who had contested seven tiebreaks en route to the final, won 13 of 16 points on first serve in the opening seven games of the set. However, Harrison and Skupski applied pressure on return and earned a break-point opportunity at 4-4, which the Germans saved, leading to a tiebreak.

In the tiebreak, both teams earned points on return. At 6-5, Puetz had a chance to extend the match but made two errors, including a netted return and a shanked forehand. Harrison then served for the championship, with Skupski concluding the match at the net to seal the title.

After the victory, Harrison addressed the crowd, stating, “We felt your energy today, so thank you for the support in this final.” He added, “Thanks to my partner, [Neal]. It’s been a great year, to get two titles like this, and to do it at home.”

The triumph made Harrison a two-time Grand Slam champion and propelled him into the top 10 in the world doubles rankings for the first time, with a projected rise to No. 4. Skupski is set to climb to No. 3.

For Skupski, the title ended a long wait for a US Open crown after finishing runner-up in 2022 with Wesley Koolhof and in 2025 with Joe Salisbury. The 36-year-old had also been runner-up in New York last year, despite holding match points in the final.

During the trophy presentation, Skupski remarked, “This speech gets a little easier once you’ve won,” referencing his previous losses at the venue. He added, “Losing twice, and having match points last year in the championship final…it was a tough part of my career. But it’s amazing what a year does in tennis.”

Skupski, who won Wimbledon with Koolhof in 2023, now requires only a French Open title to complete a career Grand Slam.

The Harrison-Skupski partnership completed an undefeated run at the two hard-court Grand Slams in 2026, having also won the Australian Open earlier this year.

The final was decided by narrow margins, with only three break-point opportunities created between the teams. Harrison and Skupski converted their sole break point to secure the championship.
