The Haryana Government has approved expenditure of approximately Rs 1,028 crore on projects spanning more than ten departments, as part of efforts to accelerate development works in the state.

These decisions were finalised during a meeting of the High-Powered Purchase Committee chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on the evening of April 8 at Haryana Niwas.

The meeting granted approval to several key projects involving the Haryana Police Housing Corporation, DHBVN, HSIIDC, PWD, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation Limited, DMER, FMDA, GMDA, the Irrigation Department, and PHED. Negotiations with bidders resulted in savings amounting to roughly Rs 96 crore, according to an official release.

Chief Minister Saini emphasised the government's primary objective of delivering better quality services to the people of Haryana. He instructed officials to ensure regular monitoring so that all projects meet deadlines and quality standards. He further declared his intention to personally review project progress and stated, "Any negligence in development works will not be tolerated."

The procurement process for 11-metre-long PCC poles, single-phase and three-phase net meters, and 25 KVA transformers was finalised during the meeting. Approval was also granted for commodity purchases worth Rs 29 crore under the supplementary nutrition programme, a component of the ‘Har-Hith’ retail project run by Haryana Agro Industries Corporation Limited.

Additionally, the committee approved a Rs 5.78 crore project to implement the ‘Student and Faculty Life Cycle Management System’ (SFLM) in government medical colleges, designed to enhance efficiency and integration in the medical education system. A Rs 6.60 crore project was also approved for surveys and the preparation of a detailed project report for storm water diversion from the Gurugram metropolitan area towards the Yamuna River.

Energy Minister Anil Vij, Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel, Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Singh Gangwa, and Health Minister Arti Singh Rao were present at the meeting.
