The Indian Army, along with CAPF and Manipur Police, conducted a joint operation on January 31, 2026, targeting hostile infrastructure along national highway NH-202 in Manipur.
The coordinated patrols were carried out in the areas of Jalenbung Hills and Thoyee Heights to maintain security and prevent the re-establishment of hostile bunkers.
Two joint columns operated on either side of the highway, conducting systematic sweeps. In the Jalenbung Hills, five previously dismantled bunkers, which had been re-established, were identified and destroyed. Concurrently, in Thoyee Heights, five repaired bunkers along Mahadev Hills and Thoyee Heights, also previously dismantled, were destroyed.
In total, the operation resulted in the destruction of ten bunkers. The security forces emphasised that the action demonstrates their continued commitment to denying the re-establishment of hostile firing positions and maintaining peace and stability in the region through sustained and coordinated efforts.
