Newly-appointed Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon has outlined a vision focused on farmers and youth welfare while affirming the party's intention to form the next government in the state following the 2027 Assembly elections.

Addressing ANI, Dhillon stated, “We have to work to make Punjab the best state in the world. We will work for the welfare of farmers and employ the youth. BJP will form the next government in Punjab.”

Dhillon’s appointment follows a decision by BJP national president Nitin Nabin, who named him as the head of the Punjab unit, succeeding Sunil Jakhar. Dhillon, a former Congress leader, previously served as a member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly from 2012 to 2017 representing the Barnala constituency. He joined the BJP on June 4, 2022.

Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh congratulated Dhillon on assuming his new role, tweeting, “Wishing him great success in strengthening the party across Punjab.”

Alongside Dhillon, the BJP announced new state unit presidents for Delhi, Tripura, and Haryana. Archana Gupta was appointed president of the Haryana BJP unit, Harsh Malhotra took charge as Delhi BJP president, and Abhishek Debroy became the head of the Tripura unit.

Archana Gupta expressed gratitude for the leadership's confidence and outlined her priorities for her tenure. “My priority will be to strengthen the organisation further, bring communal harmony and ensure greater participation of women in politics and the economy,” she told ANI. Gupta added, “Women’s empowerment will remain a key focus… When the Prime Minister introduced the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, other political parties opposed it. Women saw clearly which party supported them and which opposed them. In Bengal, people already gave a strong reply to TMC. Women will stand firmly with the BJP, the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Haryana.”

Abhishek Debroy has served as the member of the Tripura Legislative Assembly from the Matabari constituency since his election in 2023 as a BJP candidate.

Harsh Malhotra, a prominent BJP leader in Delhi, currently serves as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha representing East Delhi since 2024 and holds the position of Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
