KL Rahul of Delhi Capitals achieved the highest individual IPL score by an Indian player, hitting an unbeaten 152 runs from 67 balls against Punjab Kings.
His innings included 16 fours and nine sixes, with a striking rate exceeding 226.
This performance makes Rahul the third batsman in IPL history to score 150 or more in a single innings, joining Chris Gayle, who scored 175 in 2013, and Brendon McCullum, who made 158 not out in 2008. Rahul surpassed Abhishek Sharma’s previous Indian record of 141 not out.
Rahul reached his century in 47 balls, setting the fastest century for Delhi Capitals and surpassing both Virender Sehwag and Quinton de Kock’s 48-ball centuries. This century is also his quickest among his six IPL hundreds.
His innings resulted in the highest IPL score for Delhi Capitals, overtaking Rishabh Pant’s 128 not out from 2018. Rahul now shares the most hundreds for the team with Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner, each having two. He also equals Chris Gayle's position as the joint-third-highest century-maker in the IPL.
According to CricViz statistics, Rahul is the first IPL player to score multiple centuries for three different teams, with two centuries each for Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants.
Additionally, Rahul has surpassed Tilak Varma’s 151 to hold the highest individual score by an Indian in men’s T20 internationals. He currently holds the Orange Cap, having amassed 357 runs in seven matches, averaging 59.50 with a strike rate above 187, including one century and two half-centuries.
