A woman in Bengaluru reportedly died by suicide following the accidental death of her 11-month-old son at their residence within the Chandralayout Police Station jurisdiction.

A case has been registered at Chandralayout Police Station in the Byraveshwarnagar area of the city under UDR No. 17/2026, and Section 194 (3) (iv) of the BNSS Act. Investigations are ongoing.

The police stated that the complaint was filed by the father, aged 32, who works as an engineer in a private firm located in Peenya. The family had been residing at the address for the past four years, including his wife, who was employed by a private company and worked from home, and their infant son.

On April 1, at around 9 am, the father left for work, leaving his wife and child at home. When he returned at approximately 6:30 pm, he found the door locked from the inside. Despite repeated knocking and calling his wife’s mobile phone, there was no response. Using a spare key near a window, he gained entry.

Inside the house, he discovered his wife unresponsive and the child lying on the bed. A handwritten note recovered at the scene read: “My son fell into the water and died. I could not save him. I am sorry.” Additionally, an empty strip of tablets was found at the location.

The complainant has expressed doubts about the circumstances surrounding the deaths and has requested legal action. Police indicated that further measures will be taken based on the investigation's findings.
