A newborn boy died at NTR Hospital in Anakapalli, Andhra Pradesh, after a power failure interrupted the oxygen supply, according to family members.
The infant, born three days earlier, had been moved to a special ward on April 4 after a jaundice diagnosis and required oxygen support as part of his treatment.
The family stated that the power outage in the special ward caused a disruption in oxygen provision, preventing the infant from receiving timely medical care. The baby subsequently passed away, leading to protests by relatives outside the hospital.
Protestors accused hospital staff of negligence and demanded accountability, calling for a comprehensive investigation into the events surrounding the death.
