Delhi Capitals batter Nitish Rana attended the Bhasma Aarti at Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on Tuesday, offering prayers amid his poor form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season.
Rana has scored only 20 runs in three matches for DC this season, including a duck. In the opener against Lucknow Super Giants, he made 15 runs off 17 balls. In the match against Mumbai Indians, Rana was dismissed for a three-ball duck after being run out. Despite his struggles, DC won both games.
In the third match, Rana scored five runs off six deliveries as Delhi Capitals lost by one run. He was replaced by Ashutosh Sharma in the subsequent game against Chennai Super Kings, which DC lost.
Delhi Capitals have played four matches so far in IPL 2026, winning two and losing two, and currently sit fifth in the points table with four points and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of +0.322.
In their recent match against Chennai Super Kings, Sanju Samson scored a century and Jamie Overton took four wickets, securing CSK’s first victory of the season by 23 runs. CSK broke their six-match home losing streak, posting 212 for 2 in 20 overs, with Samson unbeaten on 115 off 56 balls and Ayush Mhatre contributing 59.
During the run chase, Pathum Nissanka made 41 and Tristan Stubbs scored 60 off 30 balls, but Delhi Capitals were restricted by Overton’s figures of 4 for 18 and Kamboj’s 3 for 35, leading to their defeat.
