The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth & Sports will convene on June 1 to examine the use of pen-and-paper testing compared to computer-based testing (CBT), alongside matters related to NEET-UG 2026 and the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The meeting is scheduled for 11 AM in the Committee Room of the Parliament House Avenue Extension. The committee will meet again on June 2 at 11 AM to review the implementation of On-Screen Marking (OSM) in Grade 12 CBSE examinations and address challenges encountered by students.
Deliberations will also focus on the application of the three-language formula in Classes 9 and 10. These discussions are taking place amid ongoing controversies surrounding examination procedures.
On the previous Friday, parliamentary panel members stressed the necessity of safeguarding the integrity of the NEET-UG exam administered by the National Testing Agency and closing existing vulnerabilities. They were informed of the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) probe into the NEET-UG paper leak incident, according to sources.
The CBI continues its investigation into this year's NEET-UG examination leak, which led to the exam's cancellation and rescheduling for June 21. As part of the inquiry, 13 individuals have been arrested, including a doctor from Latur and a faculty member from a Pune-based coaching institute.
Meanwhile, the NTA announced on Saturday that it will release new examination dates for candidates affected by technical issues during the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2026).
