Actress and producer Patralekhaa criticised paparazzi pages for making bodyshaming comments about her after she gave birth to a daughter with husband and Bollywood star Rajkummar Rao.
Posting on her Instagram account, Patralekhaa addressed the remarks regarding her post-pregnancy appearance. She explained that her weight gain is a natural outcome of pregnancy, particularly while balancing work commitments such as film production.
In a statement titled “Pap Pages,” she wrote, “What’s happened to me!? I have just given birth! Yes, I have gained weight, which seems like an unnatural phenomenon to you all. I have not sat and eaten a mountain; I just delivered a baby and produced two films simultaneously, which are not easy jobs.”
She appealed to the paparazzi for greater compassion, saying, “If I could, I would not be this way. But that’s how my body has reacted to pregnancy. For God’s sake, please learn to be a little kind.”
Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa welcomed their first child, a baby girl, last year. They jointly announced their daughter’s birth on their fourth wedding anniversary, November 15, expressing their happiness in a social media post.
“We are over the moon. God has blessed us with a baby girl. Blessed parents – Patralekhaa and Rajkummar,” the couple wrote.
The caption described their daughter as God’s “greatest blessing” and conveyed their excitement about entering a new phase of life.
Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa married on November 15, 2021, in a private family ceremony in Chandigarh. Their professional collaboration dates back to the 2014 film Citylights, which was Patralekhaa’s Bollywood debut.
In addition to acting, Patralekhaa and Rajkummar Rao have ventured into film production. They recently launched their production company, KAMPA Film, named in tribute to their mothers by combining their initials.
Patralekhaa said, “We’ve always believed in the power of storytelling.”
