Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) posted a competitive total of 181 for 4 in their 20 overs against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) during the 15th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at Eden Gardens on Thursday.

After winning the toss, LSG chose to field first on a pitch expected to favour both pace and spin as the match progressed. KKR's innings featured early contributions, but occasional wickets restricted a large score buildup.

LSG secured an early breakthrough when Prince Yadav dismissed opener Finn Allen for 9 in the second over. Nonetheless, captain Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi responded with intent, taking the score to 56 for 1 in the Powerplay. Rahane scored 41 off 24 balls and Raghuvanshi made 45 off 33.

The pair looked set to dominate, even hitting Avesh Khan for 16 runs in the 6th over, including a towering six by Rahane.

The momentum shifted when LSG's spinners Digvesh Singh Rathi and Manimaran Siddharth were introduced. Rathi ended the 84-run partnership by dismissing Rahane, who mistimed a pull shot to Mohammed Shami during the second ball of the 11th over.

The 84-run stand between Rahane and Raghuvanshi was KKR's second-highest partnership against LSG for any wicket, following a 120-run unbroken third-wicket stand between Shreyas Iyer and Salt at the same venue in 2024.

Immediately afterwards, Siddharth removed Raghuvanshi. In the 14th over, Avesh Khan clean bowled Rinku Singh for 4 with a sharp length delivery.

At the completion of 15 overs, KKR stood at 115 for 4, with LSG bowlers maintaining pressure by controlling the run rate.

However, Rovman Powell (39 not out off 24) and Cameron Green (32 not out off 24) accelerated in the death overs, adding valuable runs to push KKR beyond 180.

Mohammed Shami was LSG's most economical bowler, conceding 27 runs in 4 overs. Siddharth, Rathi, Avesh, and Prince Yadav each took one wicket.
