Rajasthan minister Gautam Dak booked for abusing and threatening police in Chittorgarh

Rajasthan Minister Gautam Dak has been booked for allegedly using abusive language and threatening police officers at the Dungla police station in Chittorgarh district, authorities said.

The First Information Report (FIR) was filed under Sections 132, 351(2), and 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). It was lodged by Station House Officer (SHO) Shaitan Singh of Dungla Police Station following the circulation of an audio clip on social media purportedly featuring the minister abusing police personnel.

Gautam Dak denied the allegations and described the clip as a “deliberate attempt” to defame him. “This doesn’t sound like my voice. This is a deliberate attempt to defame me,” he said in a video statement.

According to the FIR, the incident occurred on Monday when SHO Shaitan Singh received a call from Dak requesting him to come outside the police station. Upon leaving, the SHO was instructed by the minister to summon Constables Laxminarayan and Vishnu Kumar.

The report stated the matter related to an ongoing investigation in which an accused named Dhanraj Kharol had been summoned for questioning on May 25.

The complaint alleged that immediately after the constables arrived, the minister began hurling abusive, derogatory, and obscene remarks at the police officers in public view without hearing their explanations. It further alleged that Dak attempted to use criminal force against the officers and threatened them with severe consequences while they were performing their official duties.

The FIR also accused the minister of boasting about having previously secured the transfer of Constable Laxminarayan from the Badi Sadri police station while issuing threats to the personnel.
