Rajasthan Royals (RR), the inaugural champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL), have begun their preparations for the IPL 2026 season by holding a training camp in Jaipur.
The franchise is aiming to refine its team combination ahead of the tournament.
Several key players, including India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, participated in the practice sessions while the coaching staff closely monitored their performance to ensure they reach peak form during the competition.
The first phase schedule for IPL 2026 has been announced, with the Rajasthan Royals, led by Riyan Parag, set to commence their campaign against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Guwahati on March 30. Their second match is against the Gujarat Titans, led by Shubman Gill, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 4.
The Royals will then face the five-time champions Mumbai Indians on April 7, followed by a match against the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 10.
Prior to the season, the Rajasthan Royals were involved in a significant trade. Sanju Samson, their wicketkeeper-batter and long-time team face for over a decade, having represented the franchise for 11 seasons, was traded to five-time champions Chennai Super Kings. Samson will now play in CSK’s yellow colours during IPL 2026.
In exchange, the Royals acquired England all-rounder Sam Curran and veteran Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who were both traded from CSK. Jadeja was part of the Rajasthan Royals squad that won the inaugural IPL trophy in 2008 under the captaincy of Shane Warne. He represented the franchise during the 2008 and 2009 seasons before moving to other teams.
The Rajasthan Royals squad for IPL 2026 includes Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran, Donovan Ferreira, Sandeep Sharma, Shubham Dubey, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Lhuan-Dre Pretorius, Shimron Hetmyer, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, Yudhvir Singh Charak, Jofra Archer, Tushar Deshpande, Kwena Maphaka, Nandre Burger, Ravi Bishnoi, Sushant Mishra, Yash Raj Punja, Vignesh Puthur, Ravi Singh, Aman Rao, Brijesh Sharma, Adam Milne, and Kuldeep Sen.
