Actor Ravi Dubey expressed overwhelming gratitude after a fan-driven tribute featuring his portrayal of Lakshman in Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana' was displayed on the iconic Times Square.

Reacting to the gesture, he wrote, “Wow… did you guys just put me on Times Square?! After all these years, I realise how blessed I am to have fans who have become family. I just saw this, and I’m honestly overwhelmed. Thank you for this love…it means everything. Jai Shri Ram.”

Speaking to ANI, Dubey shared his feelings about portraying Lakshman: “I am excited, with surrender if I can articulate it correctly. Every time I think about the film, every time I think about Ramayana, that’s the one feeling I have in my heart: surrender.”

Earlier in April, a special teaser for the much-anticipated ‘Ramayana’ was released, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Maryada Purushottam Rama. The teaser, titled ‘Ramayana: The Introduction,’ gives fans a first look at Ranbir in the role, with brief glimpses of Ravi Dubey and Sai Pallavi, as well as scenes from Ravana’s kingdom. The video focuses mainly on the journey and adventures of Lord Rama, noted for its grand scale and visual appeal.

The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra. Planned as a two-part series, it is regarded as one of the largest projects in Indian cinema. Inspired by the ancient epic Ramayana, the story centres on Rama, believed to be an avatar of Lord Vishnu, chronicling his journey as prince of Ayodhya, his exile, and his battle with Ravana.

Alongside Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, the cast includes Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. The film’s music is composed by Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman.

The first part of ‘Ramayana’ is scheduled for release in theatres during Diwali 2026, with the second part expected at Diwali 2027.
