Real Kashmir FC and Aizawl FC played out a dramatic 2-2 draw in the Indian Football League (IFL) 2025-26 at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Aizawl on Friday.
According to a press release from AIFF Media, Real Kashmir took the lead twice through goals from Shedrack Charles and Ahteeb Ahmad Dar in each half, but Aizawl FC equalised both times through Zomuansanga and Lalhriatpuia to earn a point in a closely contested game.
Aizawl moved to the top of the standings with five points, while Real Kashmir is ninth with two points.
Real Kashmir head coach Ishfaq Ahmed made four changes to his starting lineup from the previous match, including Furkan Ahmad Dar in goal alongside Ahteeb Ahmad Dar, Basit Ahmed Bhat and Mashoor Shereef. Aizawl FC head coach R Lalruatfela retained the same starting XI from their opening fixture.
Both teams began with high intensity, playing at a fast tempo from the start. Real Kashmir opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Shedrack Charles capitalised on a goalkeeping error by Aizawl captain Vanlal Hriatpuia, finishing from close range.
Aizawl gradually gained control and were awarded a penalty after a foul by Kashmir defender Mashoor Shereef. Zomuansanga converted from the spot in the 42nd minute to level the match.
Just before half-time, Vanlal Hriatpuia made an excellent one-on-one save to deny Charles, ensuring the teams were level at 1-1 at the break.
The second half remained closely fought, with both sides seeking an advantage. Real Kashmir regained the lead in the 75th minute when Ahteeb Ahmad Dar headed the ball into the top corner.
Aizawl persisted in attack and secured a late equaliser in the first minute of stoppage time. Lalhriatpuia rose highest to meet a cross from right-back Lalrempuia, heading the ball home to make it 2-2 and earn a valuable point for the hosts.
