Former Mixed Team World Champion Shiva Narwal returned after three years to claim gold in the 10m Air Pistol Men's Junior event on Day One of the ISSF Junior World Cup Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun at Egypt International Olympic City.

Narwal secured the top position with a final score of 241.8, finishing 1.8 points ahead of Uzbekistan's Sodikjon Abdullaev, who won silver. India's Chirag Sharma completed the podium with bronze, scoring 218.9. Another Indian finalist, Abhinav Deshwal, finished seventh with 136.7.

In qualification, Narwal led with 576-19x, followed by Abhinav in third place (576-16x) and Chirag in fourth (575-13x). Abhinav Choudhary (570-14x), Himanshu Rana (568-12x) and Abhay Dhama (567-17x) did not qualify for the final.

In the women’s junior 10m air rifle, Panaah Bhugra earned silver with a final score of 250.6. She had qualified for the final with 629.4 and maintained her medal position from the first series onwards. The gold and bronze medals were won by French shooters Anceline Brackman (252.0) and Helena Ecale (228.6) respectively.

Shambhavi Kshirsagar, who topped qualification with 634.0, finished fourth with 206.5, while fellow Indian Anvii Rathod placed sixth with 164.6. Anvii had qualified sixth with 628.6. Other Indian competitors included Manyata Singh (628.3, eighth place), Anushka Thokur (627.9, ninth), and Aneesha Sharma (627.1, tenth). As per competition rules, only the top three athletes per country progress to the final, which meant Manyata did not advance.

The 25m Pistol Men and Women precision rounds and the opening 75 targets of Skeet men and women also commenced at the junior event.

The next day will feature the Rapid stage and finals of the 25m Pistol Women and 50 targets, along with the finals of Skeet Men and Women. Medals in the 25m Pistol Men and 50m Rifle Prone events for both men and women will be decided based on the qualification rounds.

Results from the 25m Pistol Women Precision Stage include Sejal Kamble with 292-6x, Parisha Gupta 288-8x, Anjali Mahendra Bhagwat 284-5x, Shikha Chaudhary 282-4x, and Manvi Jain 281-7x. Agam Grewal was disqualified under ISSF Rule 6.7.9.1b due to a post-competition check failure.

In the 25m Pistol Men Precision Stage, Abhinav Deshwal scored 290-9x, Raj Chandra 288-9x, Yug Pratap Singh Rathore 287-11x, Jatin 283-5x, Abhinav Choudhary 281-5x, and Sahil Choudhary 278-3x.

For Skeet Women (75 Targets), Risham Kaur Guron scored 68 (24,23,21), Sanyogita Shekhawat 66 (21,22,23), Agrima Kanwar 60 (22,18,20), and Parmeet Kaur 59 (19,22,18).

Skeet Men (75 Targets) leaders included Harviraj Singh 71 (25,21,25), Ishan Singh Libra 70 (25,23,22), Zorawar Singh Bedi 68 (22,21,25), Yashwardhan Singh Rajput 63 (19,22,22), and Anjaneya Singh Mandawa 59 (21,21,17).
