He stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already initiated measures to send all possible aid to Nepal.

Addressing the natural disaster affecting Nepal, Chouhan emphasised India’s role as a first responder in the region. He said, “Whenever a natural disaster strikes anywhere, India is the first to extend a helping hand. Our Prime Minister immediately spoke with his counterpart in Nepal, and India is taking steps to dispatch all possible assistance right away.”

Chouhan highlighted that the relief operation’s immediate priorities are rescue efforts and humanitarian aid. He added, “Our top priority is to locate the missing brothers and sisters and to provide every possible aid to the affected families in Nepal. India will spare no effort.”

Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs released the names of 63 Indian nationals working on the Trishuli-1 project in Nepal who have been rescued following the devastating flash floods.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared the list on X, stating, “Update on Indian nationals rescued in Nepal.”

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority reported that the death toll in Nepal has risen to 389, with 977 people still missing after the Bhote Koshi flood in the Rasuwa district. The figures were compiled based on information from the District Administration Office, District and National Emergency Operation Centres, reflecting the aftermath of the flood and ongoing search and rescue operations.
