The Srinagar Police have attached immovable properties valued at approximately Rs 2 crore belonging to alleged drug traffickers under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, officials announced on January 31, 2026. The action forms part of the ongoing 'Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan' campaign.

The operation involved separate cases handled by Bemina and M R Gunj Police Stations against individuals accused of involvement in narcotics-related activities.

In the initial case, Bemina Police Station attached property worth around Rs 1.5 crore belonging to alleged drug peddler Mudasir Ahmad Pir, also known as Sahil and Doge, a resident of Firdous Colony, Bemina, Srinagar. The attachment was executed under Section 68F(1) of the NDPS Act after confirmation from the Competent Authority under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act (SAFEMA), Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Government of India.

The property attached includes a double-storeyed residential house and about four marlas of land in Firdous Colony. Investigations indicated that the asset was acquired using funds generated from illicit narcotics trafficking.

In a separate incident, Srinagar Police attached a residential house and land valued at approximately Rs 50 lakh of alleged drug peddler Shafiq Ahmad Khawaja, a resident of Dildar Karnah in Kupwara district. This was done under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 10/2024 registered for violations of Sections 8, 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station M R Gunj.

The police stated that attachment proceedings in both cases adhered to due legal procedures, establishing that the properties were acquired through proceeds from narcotics trafficking.

“These actions reflect the firm resolve of Srinagar Police to dismantle the financial infrastructure of drug trafficking networks and ensure that illegally acquired assets of drug peddlers are identified and attached under the provisions of law,” the police said in a statement.

They added, “Srinagar Police remains committed towards eradicating the menace of drugs from society and appeals to the general public to continue supporting law enforcement agencies by sharing information related to drug peddling and narcotics activities in their areas.”
