Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel personally addressed more than 110 grievances during the April 2026 State-Wide Attention on Grievances by Application of Technology (SWAGAT) programme on Thursday, instructing district authorities to resolve issues within a defined timeframe with justice and neutrality, according to a government release.

As part of the monthly online public grievance redressal initiative, citizens from across Gujarat submitted their issues, while district-level SWAGAT programmes initiated action on 1,335 representations statewide.

The Chief Minister took particular note of a case in Panchmahal district where an application on the iORA portal for permission to sell agricultural land remained unresolved due to repeated transfer among officials. He directed the District Collector to rectify flaws in the system to prevent citizens from being harassed by shortcomings in the online process.

In Bharuch district’s Jhagadia taluka, a farmer reported a delay in receiving compensation for land acquired under the Karjan reservoir project despite prior approval. The Chief Minister ordered payment within 10 days and action against those responsible for the delay.

Regarding a separate complaint, the Chief Minister instructed the police to take strict measures against anti-social elements involved in financial fraud using fake documents.

Farmers in Mehsana district collectively raised concerns about reduction in land area during a re-survey and requested re-measurement and record correction. The Chief Minister told the District Collector to address these issues without delay.

Throughout the programme, the Chief Minister emphasised that officials should remain accountable until the final resolution of grievances, rather than considering their duty complete once a file is transferred.

The April 2026 State SWAGAT session was attended by Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Sanjeev Kumar, Additional Principal Secretary Vikrant Pandey, Secretary Ajay Kumar, Officer on Special Duty DK Parekh, Rakesh Vyas, and senior officials of relevant departments, including district Collectors, Superintendents of Police, and District Development Officers.
