Telangana BJP chief Ram Chander Rao praised the film Dhurandhar 2 for promoting the 'spirit of patriotism' and portraying the 'reality' of demonetisation.
Rao and other BJP members viewed the Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar: The Revenge on Tuesday in Hyderabad.
Rao urged the younger generation to watch the film as it highlights the alleged cross-border fake currency networks. “BJP state leaders and party workers have come to watch the film today (Tuesday). We appreciate it for strengthening the patriotic spirit, showing how Indian spies sacrifice their lives to protect the nation under immense pressure. The story reflects the reality of demonetisation, exposing Pakistan’s fake currency network used to fund terrorism and smuggle arms. We believe the younger generation should watch such films,” he stated.
The film stars a prominent cast including Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt, along with a cameo by Yami Gautam. Ranveer Singh leads the narrative, delivering a performance considered one of the most powerful in his career.
The first film in the franchise also featured Akshaye Khanna in a key role as gangster Rehman Dakait. Directed by Dhar, this is his third project following his National Award-winning debut Uri: The Surgical Strike and the second film, Dhurandhar.
The soundtrack has added to the film’s appeal, featuring songs such as “Aari Aari,” composed by Shashwat Sachdev in collaboration with Bombay Rockers.
