The Governor of Telangana, Shiv Pratap Shukla, met with a youth delegation from Maharashtra visiting the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati as part of the Yuva Sangam programme.

Led by the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, the delegation is engaged in a range of academic, cultural, and experiential activities designed to enhance inter-state understanding and youth connectivity across India, according to the Ministry of Education.

Speaking to the students, Shukla emphasised the significance of youth participation in nation-building and highlighted the role of cultural awareness and inter-state cooperation in reinforcing India’s unity in diversity. He stated that initiatives like Yuva Sangam offer valuable opportunities for young people to connect with various regions, cultures and traditions, thereby promoting emotional integration and fostering national harmony.

The Governor commended Yuva Sangam for advancing people-to-people connections and allowing students to directly experience India’s cultural heritage and developmental progress. He encouraged the delegates to uphold the values of mutual respect, learning and cooperation as representatives of national integration, the Ministry reported.

During their visit, the delegation interacted with faculty, researchers, innovators and students at IIT Tirupati, gaining insights into advanced scientific research, academic excellence and technological developments. They also engaged with the cultural traditions and heritage of Southern India through community activities and cultural exchanges.

Yuva Sangam Phase VI, launched by the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, aims to deepen national unity, cultural harmony and emotional integration through immersive educational and cultural exchanges. The programme connects participants from 22 paired States and Union Territories to foster a better understanding of India’s diversity, innovation environments and common goals in nation-building.
