Farmers across India are set to receive the 22nd installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the latest payment from Guwahati, Assam on March 13, 2026. Once released, the financial assistance will be transferred directly to eligible farmers' bank accounts.
Under the scheme, beneficiaries receive ₹2,000 per installment, which is paid three times a year. With the 22nd installment now due, farmers who have completed their e-KYC and document verification will receive the payment directly through the government's system.
What Is the PM-KISAN Scheme?
Through this scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually. The amount is distributed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months. The money is transferred directly to beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, ensuring transparency and eliminating middlemen.
The financial support helps farmers manage basic agricultural expenses such as seeds, fertilisers, and farming equipment.
A Major Support Programme for Farmers
To ensure only genuine beneficiaries receive the funds, the government has made e-KYC verification and Aadhaar seeding mandatory for all registered farmers.
