Confident in his abilities and accustomed to working in modern hospitals with advanced medical equipment, Ji-ui chooses to complete his mandatory military service as a public health doctor, believing it will be an easier and safer alternative to active duty.</p><nh-chunk-delimit />

<p>However, his carefully planned future quickly falls apart due to a painful childhood trauma connected to the sea. Desperate to avoid coastal assignments, Ji-ui hopes for a comfortable posting inland, but fate unexpectedly sends him to Pyeondong-do, a remote and isolated island feared by most doctors because of its harsh conditions, strange atmosphere, and limited medical facilities.</p><p>Far removed from the luxurious environment he once enjoyed, Ji-ui is forced to adapt to a completely different reality. Instead of advanced surgical tools and elite patients, he must now treat villagers using outdated equipment and minimal resources while dealing with emergencies in difficult circumstances. The island&apos;s unpredictable residents, unusual incidents, and isolated environment slowly push him beyond his emotional and professional limits.</p><nh-chunk-delimit />

As the two begin working together to help the local community, they gradually form a deep emotional bond.</p><p>At the same time, strange events and hidden truths surrounding Pyeondong-do slowly begin surfacing.</p><p>
