About NASA, its recent achievement and upcoming mission
The National Aeronautics and space Administration, or NASA is a federal government agency based in Washington D.Cand its primarily focus on outer space research and exploration.
The agency wasestablishedon 29thJuly 1958after the collapse of Committee for Aeronautics which was active from 1915 to 1958. The space researchagencyisone of its most active eras, marked by a return to human deep-space exploration and revolutionary deep-space observations.
The recent flagship program whichNASAhasachievedisthe ArtemisProgram. Thespace programestablishesa sustainable presence on the Moon andpreparesfor future human mission to Mars.
Through the competition of the Artemis II mission the agency has hit a historicalmilestone;the mission carried four astronauts, Commander Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen.
This was the first crewed mission beyond low Earth orbit since 1972, and the crew set anew recordfor the farthest humanspaceflight, reachinga distance of around4,06,771 Km from the Earth.
The agency is also working on a major Planetary exploration project,Dragonflywhich is mission to Titan. As of April 2026, the Dragonfly rotorcraft is in its final assembly and testing phase. Thelaunch of the mission is targeted for 2028.
